How the Dynasty fight
Strong: The best-drilled ranks alive: duellists who cannot be hit, and powder a century before anyone else.
Weak: It wears lacquer and silk, not plate — a fight it cannot dictate is a fight it loses.
The Jade Dynasty field 26 troops across thirteen classes — 2 levy, 4 ranged, 3 cavalry, 2 shock, 2 anti-armor, 2 support, 2 caster, 2 elite, 2 siege, 1 construct, 1 beast, 2 legend and 1 titan.
Trait and powers
Every Jade Dynasty troop fights with the kingdom's trait: +6% speed · +5% damage · +2% range · −2% health. It is added in battle on top of the figures on each troop's own page.
- Drill halls muster 4% faster, and their levels cost 5% less
- Every soldier is quicker and further-reaching (+6% move, +2% range)
- But the courts wear lacquer, not plate — 2% less health

The Jade Dynasty roster
All 26 troops, by class and then by what their spawner costs to raise. Range is in the field's own units — a melee blow reaches a few dozen, the longest bows several hundred.
| Troop | Class | Raise | Health | Damage | Range | Speed | Pop | What it does |

Chu-ko-nu | Ranged | 750 | 26 | 7 | 135 | 50 | 1 | Repeating crossbow — a hail of small bolts nothing light can stand in. |
Fire Lance | Ranged | 750 | 29 | 17 | 105 | 48 | 1 | A bamboo tube of black powder — the first gun, and it still sets men alight. |
Yumi Archer | Ranged | 750 | 26 | 12 | 195 | 56 | 1 | The great asymmetric bow — outranges every western string but the longbow. |
Flame Archer | Ranged | 1,450 | 29 | 12 | 158 | 52 | 1 | Fire arrows that set foes ablaze with lingering burn. |
Horse Archer | Cavalry | 750 | 59 | 9 | 150 | 134 | 2 | Mounted bow — kites and pelts as it wheels away. |
Light Cavalry | Cavalry | 950 | 72 | 12 | Melee | 142 | 2 | Blazing-fast flanker; charges down stragglers. |
Iron Pagoda | Cavalry | 2,150 | 205 | 21 | Melee | 92 | 3 | Horse and rider both in lamellar to the hoof — the one heavy thing the courts field. |
Rōnin | Shock | 1,250 | 90 | 26 | Melee | 118 | 2 | A masterless blade, fast and unbothered — it slips the blow and answers twice. |
Shinobi | Shock | 1,650 | 73 | 37 | Melee | 136 | 2 | Steps out of nowhere behind your casters and is gone before the line turns. |
Naginata Guard | Anti-Armor | 1,000 | 96 | 20 | Melee | 58 | 1 | A curved polearm kept for horses — it opens plate and turns the charge. |
Iron Monk | Anti-Armor | 1,800 | 139 | 28 | Melee | 76 | 2 | No blade, no armour, forty years of practice — the plate simply stops mattering. |
Sōhei | Support | 2,050 | 92 | 15 | Melee | 62 | 2 | Warrior monks who plant themselves in front and mend what stands behind. |
Shrine Maiden | Support | 2,200 | 66 | 8 | 130 | 56 | 2 | Bells and paper streamers — the kami she calls mend and quicken the host. |
Pyromancer | Caster | 1,700 | 35 | 15 | 150 | 52 | 2 | Hurls explosive fire — splash damage to clumps. |
Onmyōji | Caster | 2,850 | 84 | 19 | 190 | 52 | 3 | Casts paper wards that pin an advance where it stands and burn it there. |
Samurai | Elite | 3,200 | 151 | 22 | Melee | 84 | 3 | Lamellar, longsword and a lifetime of drill — the finest line-breaker alive. |
Kensei | Elite | 4,300 | 136 | 34 | Melee | 112 | 3 | A sword-saint. Armor is irrelevant to it and it is barely there to be hit. |
Fire Ox | Siege | 2,300 | 230 | 16 | Melee | 62 | 3 | Blades on the horns, burning reeds on the tail, and one direction in its head. |
Hwacha | Siege | 2,600 | 61 | 13 | 245 | 28 | 3 | A cart of a hundred fire-arrows loosed at once, and then loosed again. |
Terracotta Guard | Construct | 3,000 | 332 | 23 | Melee | 44 | 4 | Clay soldiers from an emperor’s tomb — they hold the ground they are set on. |
War Elephant | Beast | 3,750 | 450 | 26 | Melee | 50 | 5 | A tusked mountain that tramples and flings everything aside. |
Qilin | Legend | 3,750 | 224 | 23 | Melee | 128 | 5 | It appears where a just war is fought, mends what it passes, and tramples what it does not like. |
Cloud Serpent | Legend | 5,500 | 198 | 23 | 138 | 118 | 6 | A river of scale in the air, and the storm it drags behind it forks through five men at once. |
Oni | Titan | 7,500 | 795 | 52 | Melee | 58 | 9 | A horned demon out of the mountain shrines, iron club wreathed in blue fire. |
