The Thirteen Troop Classes
Every one of the game's 260 troops belongs to one of thirteen classes. The class says what a troop is for — and decides, before any troop's own powers, who it deals extra damage to.
Levy
The cheapest bodies in a roster — line infantry, pikes and swarm troops a kingdom fills its lanes with.
34 troopsRanged
Bows, slings, javelins and guns that fight from behind the line, and the reliable answer to anything that flies.
18 troopsCavalry
Mounted troops built for speed and the charge, deadly to archers, casters and stragglers.
24 troopsShock
Fast, hard-hitting killers — berserkers, duelists and assassins — that dive the soft targets behind a line.
17 troopsAnti-Armor
Maces, halberds and picks built to break armour: the answer to knights, golems and anything plated.
23 troopsSupport
Healers, banners, pipers and chaplains that make every troop around them better.
27 troopsCaster
Mages that slow, root, curse, poison and chain lightning through packed ranks.
22 troopsElite
Armoured champions — wardens, templars, paladins — that anchor a front line.
21 troopsSiege
Engines with the longest reach on the field, built to bring keeps and works down.
8 troopsConstruct
Golems and walking engines: enormous health and armour, and slow to arrive.
12 troopsBeast
War-beasts and monsters — elephants, wolves, trolls, wyverns — that trample lighter troops.
17 troopsLegend
The rarest troops in a roster: dragons, phoenixes, archmages and liches, priced to match.
18 troopsTitan
Giants and colossi — the biggest, slowest and dearest troops a kingdom can raise.

A class bonus stacks with a troop's own — a spear's brace against cavalry, an archer's bonus against fliers. Each troop page lists both.
